What Chill Wind Was That?

traitor

A chill wind is blowing in this nation. …

Every day, the air waves are filled with warnings, veiled and unveiled threats, spewed invective and hatred directed at any voice of dissent. And the public, like so many relatives and friends that I saw this weekend, sit in mute opposition and fear. […]

Susan and I have been listed as traitors, as supporters of Saddam, and various other epithets by the Aussie gossip rags masquerading as newspapers, and by their fair and balanced electronic media cousins, 19th Century Fox…

Two weeks ago, the United Way canceled Susan’s appearance at a conference on women’s leadership. And both of us last week were told that both we and the First Amendment were not welcome at the Baseball Hall of Fame… Tim Robbins 2003 (Source)

Boo-Fucking-Hoo, Timmy. Sorry that it was so damn hard for you to take verbal bullets for your so called convictions. As it happens, our soldiers have been taking real bullets to protect the likes of you and one can only thank god that their ranks are filled by men with far more moral fortitude than you will ever likely muster.

rooster.gif

Like an agitated rooster Robbins strutted across stages and pounded on podiums, squawking doom and cackling about his threatened rights. Well, Mr. Robbins was never silenced. He and his Hollywood comrades were rejected, spurned, and the recipients of contempt, but neither Robbins nor any in his pathetic community of Ameri-phopes were ever in any danger of being sued, imprisoned, or murdered, let alone censored. They have freely continued to produce movies, give speeches, write books and fling every eschatological laden epithet their febrile little minds could manufacture against America - all without consequences beyond what the free market dictated.

So, did frightened little Timmy get a warm and fluffy blanket to protect him from that damn chill? Because, given the lack of commentary, he and his ilk seem not in the least bit chilled by any of the free speech battles being fought across the globe since his impassioned pleas to safeguard the same.

I’m not even going to get into the slaughter of Theo Van Gogh, muslims rioting and killing over cartoons, Hirsi Ali, Wafa Sultan, Geert Wilders and the countless others who live with very real, religiously sanctioned, publicly proclaimed death threats over their heads.

We’ll keep it simple for now and just just go North of the border to Canada.

Richard Warman, the man who has been the plaintiff in half of the section 13 “hate-speech” cases brought before the Canadian Human Rights Commissions (CHRC), has now launched a sweeping lawsuit against some of the most prominent conservative publications, journalists and bloggers in Canada. Warman is suing for libel, alleging in particular that the defendants falsely accused him of posting a racist screed on the white supremacist website Freedom Site.

censorship4

The list of the defendants in Warman’s lawsuit reads like a who’s-who of conservative journalism and blogging in Canada, including: The National Post Company, Jonathon Kay, Ezra Levant, Kathy Shaidle, Fivefeetoffury.com, Smalldeadanimals.com, Catherine McMillan, Mark Fournier, Freedominion.ca, and Constance Wilkins-Fournier.(Source)

This, rightfully so, is getting much attention amongst bloggers and I would encourage everyone, left or right, to keep laser focus on how this progresses. Post on it, write letters, email friends. More importantly, donate to the bloggers who must defend against this assault. Michelle Malkin is facilitating such efforts and each blogger has a pay pal button on their site.

We all know assaults on speech are going to continue to accelerate. The intent of Progressives socialists in America to stomp out talk radio and strangle the internet are not at all new. Those efforts, in conjunction with those of their muslim allies , make it an imperative to organize one hell of a united front and considerable cash.

We have had warning shot after warning shot fired across our bow, especially in view of all of the aggressive measures to silence speech in Europe, and even yet, we have no real rapid response apparatus in place; no Soros, no Open Society, no Heinz, no media. But their media and propaganda models are there for all to dissect and replicate.

censorship 2

This latest flurry of suits in Canada have the potential to bring more to the fight, resulting in new alliances. They ought not be temporary, but seeded and nurtured to grow a cohesive coordinated body. It would seem that all of these disparate groups and individuals could be organized and deployed more effectively, thwarting the passage of more”hate” legislation, dismantling existing laws on the books and going face to face with these Orwellian apparatchiks and using every tactic cunning and honor will allow.

If speech is lost, the road ahead will be far more harrowing and arduous than can be imagined, but then, Huxley and Orwell already have.

An American Horror Story.

To be fair this is the American chapter of a world wide horror story, viz. the treatment of mental illness for the past century or so. It does show the danger in relying on the ‘experts’ and this applies to many other enterprises but particularly the lefty politicians who arrogantly think they know better than the people what they need and how it should be provided.

From ‘The Brain: A Mindless Obsession by Charles Barber’ in The Wilson Quarterly. It’s a long article but worth reading and keeping if only as a warning.

All of the evidence points to the conclusion that today’s full embrace of biological psychiatry is terribly premature, especially since we have available an increasing number of nondrug therapies of proven effectiveness. We are only in the very early stages of understanding how the brain works and what alters its functioning. Somewhere along the way we seem to have misplaced the notion that, at this stage of our scientific evolution at least, the brain’s capacity to understand itself is minimal. The task is endlessly daunting. There are, for example, more than 100 billion neurons in the human brain. Each neuron is connected to hundreds of thousands of other neurons, and each can fire electrical and neurochemical messages hundreds of times a second to other neurons across synapses. Altogether, there are 100 trillion synapses through which these signals flow. All of this activity happens within the confines of a three-to-four-pound object. And the brain is not even mainly composed of neurons. Ninety percent of the cells in the brain are not neurons but glial cells, which provide nutrition and protection to the neurons.

The brain is the most complicated object in the universe. Nobel Prize–winning psychiatrist Eric Kandel has written, “In fact, we are only beginning to understand the simplest mental functions in biological terms; we are far from having a realistic neurobiology of clinical syndromes.” Neuroscientist Torsten Wiesel, another Nobelist, scoffed at the hubris of calling the 1990s “The Decade of the Brain.” “We need at least a century, maybe even a millennium,” he said, to comprehend the brain.

This is what they mess with with their drugs. Though not as barbaric as some of the earlier treatments, the harm it might do is as unknown. Richard Feynman the physicist when asked in an interview if he’d ever done drugs replied, ‘My brain is my most treasured possession, I wouldn’t want to risk any damage to it, so no I haven’t’. By the way, if you’ve never read the two autobiographical books of Richard Feynman, Surely You’re Joking, Mr. Feynman and What Do You Care What Other People Think, then get them right away, great sadness and great humor lie therein.

While on the subject of mental well being, this article in The Telegraph on Happiness and Wealth is worth a read.

To mention satisfaction and achievement is to suggest activity of some kind - doing and making, helping, learning, changing - which might seem obvious to most, but is chosen by surprisingly few.

Ruskin tellingly remarked ”a man wrapped up in himself makes a very small parcel”, and this, alas, characterises too many people. The limited surface area of such parcels does not attract much of the golden dust of satisfaction.

Hey…..

……..everyone who thought the Reps were going to be wiped out in November and as a break from Obama bashing, check out this old story on the Clintons, Marc Rich and the Oil for Food Scandal. If Hill were to get the nomination what do you suppose the Reps will do with this in the way of ads.

One of these men was Marc Rich.

The report said Marc Rich & Co. financed 4 million barrels of oil under a 9.5-million-barrel contract awarded to the European Oil and Trading Co., a French-based shell company.

“Surcharges were imposed on the oil,” the report said, and “Marc Rich & Co. directed BNP Paris not to disclose its identity to BNP NY in connection with its financing of the U.N. contract.”

What I would really like to know now — and I doubt anyone will ever ask or answer these questions — are three things:

1. What, exactly, is the relationship between Marc Rich and the Clintons - especially from 1997-2001?

2. Were the Clintons complicit in the founding of the corrupt oil-for-food program or did they just have their hands in the cookie jar like everyone else?

3. Why was the Clinton administration (presumably) completely unaware of the corruption… especially while considering Marc Rich’s pardon application?

Enquiring minds do want to know.

What is she doing even running?

Normal service will now resume.

John Podhoretz nails it.

Obama is often likened to Reagan, but the Obama movement promises something very different. In Michelle Obama’s words:

“Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism, that you put down your division, that you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones, that you push yourselves to be better, and that you engage. Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual - uninvolved, uninformed.”

A campaign that believes its role is to “require you to work,” and is partially based on the demand “that you push yourselves to be better,” really does have it backwards. It’s the president who is “required to work,” who needs to “push himself to be better.” His role is not to analyze and address the shortcomings of the voter and the voter’s spiritual, political and ideological weaknesses, which is what Obama’s remark the other day portends. His role is to represent the voter. This is a crucial distinction, and if Obama is unable to make it, he will not become the president.

What is he doing even running?

Obamadebacle Gathering Steam.

As the yokels in Sussex UK used to say, ‘Haven’t had so much fun since granma caught her tits in the mangle’. I mean, of course, watching the Democrat primaries and also thinking about all the intellectual snobs who think Obama is the second coming, ‘He’s a really smart guy’ I’ve been told a number of times, and their disbelief and outrage when he loses either to Hillary or McCain. [Yes, I still think he could do himself in before Hill quits].
I’ve read much good comment on his ‘Pennsylvania’ speech, one of the best being this dissection of it by the ever reliable Victor Davis Hanson.

Again, we will see more and more of these condescending statements of the Michelle Obama strain, more and more of Revs. Wright, Meeks, Lee and others peddlers of division like them, and more and more clues to a long hostility to Israel—in what will eventually become the most disastrous chapter in recent Democratic history.

And pundits keep wondering why Hillary won’t give up?

“You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them,” Obama said. “And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. Worth Quoting

Heil Hillary

As for Hillary:

It’s a bad sign when an American presidential candidate sinks so low that she has to enlist the financial and moral aid of a gender-confused, 61-year-old, has-been European pop star, especially when she wants help in the “woe is me, they’re discriminating against me because I’m a woman” department.

It also doesn’t help your image, Hillary, when said pole-smoking Euro-gay rocker stands up in public and insults every heterosexual male in the United States of America.

Way to go, Hills.

Honorable Men

Warriors…In Their Own Words

We have always had warriors, from as far back in history as one can go — warriors are timeless.american warriorsWarriors have a moral code and are not simply trained killers (as they are all too frequently portrayed). If we did not have warriors, we would undoubtedly be speaking another language, German,Japanese, Chinese, or Russian.Warriors are born, they are not created. Certainly they are trained, but to be a warrior is a calling.[…]With this documentary, photo exhibit and book our aim is to raise funding for and awareness of the men and women warriors that have given so much to protect our freedoms. Freedom is not free.

Political Islam + Obama + Black Liberation Theology = The End of Freedom

Islam is a complete system that encompasses every aspect of life. It’s tentacles intrude in every imaginable way, dictating everything from personal hygeine, friendships, marraige, family life, personal hobbies.; all of it is controlled by the tenets of islam.

obama 2

What most Americans can not seem to grasp is that Islam is a political beast as well. From hearth to government, Islam sacrifices the sovereign status of the individual in service to the ummah. Much like the socialist Obama, where the individual is expected to live for the greater good (gag me) in service to the state.

Islam is based upon the principles of dualism and submission. However, you don’t have to be a Muslim to invoke them. Obama has closely aligned himself with Rev. Wright’s “Black Liberation Theology”, BLT.

The very basis of BLT is dualism. God is seen as being purely dualistic; a political creature who will support blacks and hurt whites. It is not the division into two categories that makes for dualism. A study of high blood pressure differences between blacks and whites is not dualism. Dualism, instead, divides and creates ethical and social asymmetries. As an example, Islam divides all humans into Muslim and kafir and posits that Muslims should rule over kafirs and that kafirs can be treated as sub-human if it will advance Islam.

[…]

BLT holds that crime in the black neighborhoods is due to the CIA bringing in crack cocaine and the AIDS virus. Blacks are believed to have no responsibility. Blacks even temper criticism of rap hate-speech by saying that it the fault of the rich white record producers.

The parallel with Islam is exact. When Mohammed attacked the poor Meccan kafirs and killed them, it was the kafirs’ fault. They had opposed Islam and were guilty of the first offense. Any opposition to BLT is due to inherent bigotry on the part of the white critic, by definition. Therefore, the white man/kafir is due his fair share of abuse by the pious imam or BLT preacher.
Islam is always the victim. Being the victim is the perfect cover for crime and hate…

from… Obama and Dualism

We have been so thoroughly betrayed by this current president who barely spits out the word islamofascist before retreating with the alacrity of a well trained dhimmi. Always the question posed is, “are we safe?” And simply because an act of “terror” has not visited this shore since 2001, the very false conclusion that we are thus, safe, is perpetuated. But we haven’t been safe for a very long time.

No, as of yet, there are no beheadings in America, though honor killings, genital mutilation, forced marriages are occurring with little comment from the media. There isn’t anything nearly as flagrant as the wholesale slaughter committed in Allah’s name in countries throughout the world. There are not, as of  yet,  muslim no-go zones in America as exist in England and France.

statue-of-liberty

But as I write these words liberty lays bleeding. Freedom is in exile, seeking asylum, but fewer and fewer countries will grant her sanctuary. Thought police roam the corridors of “justice” and academia, vandalizing the constitution, rummaging through history, desecrating America with the graffiti of their revisionist lies.

It is critical that Americans come to understand political islam, and then see how it melds so seamlessly with the ideological matrix from which Barack Hussein Obama speaks. The excerpts above and below are from the site Political Islam, one that I ask you to post about and to email to all those who have an ear to hear.

From… The Study of Political Islam

Endless ink has been wasted on trying to answer the question of what is Islam? Is Islam the religion of peace? Or is the true Islam a radical ideology? Is a moderate Muslim the real Muslim?
This reminds a scientist of the old arguments about light. Is light a particle or is light a wave? The arguments went back and forth. Quantum mechanics gave us the answer. Light is dualistic; it is both a particle and a wave. It depends upon the circumstances as to which quality manifests. Islam functions in the same manner.
Our first clue about the dualism is in the Koran, which is actually two books, the Koran of Mecca (early) and the Koran of Medina (later). The insight into the logic of the Koran comes from the large numbers of contradictions in it. On the surface, Islam resolves these contradictions by resorting to “abrogation”. This means that the verse written later supersedes the earlier verse. But in fact, since the Koran is considered by Muslims to be the perfect word of Allah, both verses are sacred and true. The later verse is “better,” but the earlier verse cannot be wrong since Allah is perfect. This is the foundation of dualism. Both verses are “right.” Both sides of the contradiction are true in dualistic logic. The circumstances govern which verse is used.
For example:
(Koran of Mecca) 73:10: Listen to what they [unbelievers] say with patience, and leave them with dignity.
From tolerance we move to the ultimate intolerance, not even the Lord of the Universe can stand the unbelievers:

life on islam
(Koran of Medina) 8:12: Then your Lord spoke to His angels and said, “I will be with you. Give strength to the believers. I will send terror into the unbelievers’ hearts, cut off their heads and even the tips of their fingers!”
All of Western logic is based upon the law of contradiction—if two things contradict, then at least one of them is false. But Islamic logic is dualistic; two things can contradict each other and both are true.
No dualistic system may be measured by one answer. This is the reason that the arguments about what constitutes the “real” Islam go on and on and are never resolved. A single right answer does not exist.

A Deviance Most Foul

shame 2

The Midnight Sun consistently tackles the issues that most would like never to see the light of day. Such as attempts by the usual social engineering elitists to normalize pedophilia.

It used to be that pedophilia was rightfully condemned as the foul and twisted acts of soul sick people, all of whom ought to be thoroughly excoriated and permanently jailed, if permitted to live at all.

Now practitioners of this most foul of sexual deviance have gained sufficient ground that they can openly print up and distribute brochures instructing parents on the art of sexualizing their toddlers. Because it’s “all good” in the world of progressives.

What is amazing is that more do not know about this, though it has been ongoing in Germany for over six years and reference to this appear in blogs as early as 2006. I certainly hadn’t heard of this, so, it seems worth keeping out there, if only to galvanize more parents to thwart all attempts to criminalize home schooling, keeping in mind that Germany, where these brochures are widely distributed, has outlawed home schooling. Follow all of the links and understand what it is we face, those of us who retain our humanity.

Before I send you off to explore Aurora’s links there is another aspect of this that needs to be considered as well.

Aurora points out that Christianity’s failure to hold firm the moral ground it once occupied have given Muslims a window of opportunity.

It seems that with Christians cowed into silence over moral issues in the U.K., and Christianity’s leaders like Rowan Williams actually ceding ground to Islam, it appears to be over to Muslim parents to take the moral high ground on homosexual literature being rammed down the throats of five-year-olds in schools. Where were the Christian parents? And would the school and the government have listened to them? See the story here.

despair

It would be better were America’s church pews as empty as those in Europe. Certainly the hearts of those christians who now occupy them are timid and cowed, in thrall to the same self-serving messages delivered to secular ears. A message that does not demand much but promises “heaven”, much like the progressives’ dime store Jesus, Obama . It is fitting that he represents “christianity” as it has become in America. At least the Europeans have simply abandoned God. In America, they have defiled Him.

From…

Sick, Sick, Sick: Pedophilia Sanctioned by European Government Heads

Some time ago, we posted on the shocking promotion of pedophilia by a German government department, here and here. The booklet recommends fathers engaging in sexual stimulation of their daughters; something which I find incredibly nauseating, obviously. I happened to stumble across the same source article today over linked to over at English Rose’s blog.

…Booklets from a subsidiary of the German government’s Ministry for Family Affairs encourage parents to sexually massage their children as young as 1 to 3 years of age. Two 40-page booklets entitled “Love, Body and Playing Doctor” by the German Federal Health Education Center (Bundeszentrale für gesundheitliche Aufklärung - BZgA) are aimed at parents - the first addressing children from 1-3 and the other children from 4-6 years of age.

sodom

“Fathers do not devote enough attention to the clitoris and vagina of their daughters. Their caresses too seldom pertain to these regions, while this is the only way the girls can develop a sense of pride in their sex,” reads the booklet regarding 1-3 year olds. The authors rationalize, “The child touches all parts of their father’s body, sometimes arousing him. The father should do the same.” (Source)

Those Damn Monkeys

obamamonkey

This is how preposterous this pretense of offense has become. Is this what we face with an Obamination in office? This never ending parade of offended whiners?

Black children clambering about in a tree were chastised to quit climbing about “like monkeys” and get down. Well, in this wrecked world of “tolerance”, that is sufficient to pull out the race card.

Moving to nip in the bud some potential bad press, White House hopeful Barack Obama’s campaign persuaded a delegate to step down after she was ticketed for calling her neighbor’s African-American children “monkeys.”

Linda Ramirez-Sliwinski, a Carpentersville village trustee, was elected as an Obama delegate to the Democratic National Convention. She sports an Obama sign in her front yard. On Saturday, two neighbor children were playing in the tree next-door to her house. Ramirez-Sliwinski “came outside and told the children to quit playing in the tree like monkeys…

[…]

“Linda Ramirez-Sliwinski said she saw the kids playing in the tree and didn’t want them falling out of the tree and getting hurt. She said she calls her own grandchildren ‘monkeys,’ ” Kilbourne said.

The mother of one of the children did not see it that way, noting she and Ramirez-Sliwinski have clashed before. “She felt it was racist because of the fact the children were African-American,” Kilbourne said.

Told of the incident Monday by the Sun-Times, Obama’s campaign called Ramirez-Sliwinski and persuaded her to step aside as a delegate because the campaign felt her remarks were “divisive and unacceptable.”(Source)

I have little sympathy for Ramirez, an advocate for illegals, but she ought to have had her wits about her and turned the tables on Obama and questioned why he doesn’t utilize such opportunities to berate fools who use any and every opportunity to scream racism.

Perhaps he could use his position as messiah-in-training to suggest that this bloody sensitivity to banal and innocuous remarks serves only to obscure any actual racism that may occurs and ought to be addressed.

But there is no profit in that. Obama owes his existence to the race game, always has, and he will play by the rules which elevate “offense” and race to an altar upon which anybody or anything can be sacrificed.
